- First line use for stomal ulceration especially in post bariatric surgery (e.g. gastrojejunal anastomotic ulcer). Short term use only (high cost) should resolve within 12 weeks or post revisional surgery.
- Second line for refractory cases of biliary gastritis or physiology proven weak or non-acid reflux, after trying the tablet form of sucralfate for 4 weeks
- Approved for short term use post Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) for Barret's Oesophagus and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR).

Indication and course length to be stipulated on discharge from secondary care.
Sucralfate could be discontinued if there is no benefit after a 4-8 week trial. |
